Piotr Suwalski

Prof. Dr. Piotr Suwalski was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1975. He received a degree from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland, in 2000 and a Ph.D., from the same University, in 2004. 2003 and 2004 he worked in the Heart Center Leipzig, University of Leipzig, Germany. In 2010 he received a professor degree at the Silesian Medical University. From 2011 head and professor of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education. His research interests focus on the minimally invasive, thoracoscopic and robotic cardiac surgery including among others surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation, reconstructive techniques of the heart valves. 2019-2021 President of the International Society for Minamally Invasive Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (ISMICS).
